Boys' City League
This is a full equipment developmental league for younger, new players and for players who need to acquire more skills before they are ready to play at the next level.
It is for boys age 10 and under, which for the 2017-2018 season includes players in U.S. Lacrosse age groupings 7U-10U:
|Born 9/1/2010 through 8/31/2011
|Born 9/1/2009 through 8/31/2010
|Born 9/1/2008 through 8/31/2009
|Born 9/1/2007 through 8/31/2008
Players in the 7U- 8U age groupings may elect to play 8U-10U City League or 8U soft lacrosse. In the Boys City League, the focus is on fun. All games and practices are held during the week (M-F).
Rental Gear including helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, and protective gloves is available. Rental gear will be issued before the December 2, 2017 Skills Clinic for players registering before this time.
Team assignments for City League will be made mid to late January.
Practices will start in mid-late February. While it is obviously in the players’ best interests to participate in as many practices as possible, coaches understand that some players will occasionally have other commitments. The team will practice twice per week until the season begins, and may decrease to once per week during the season, or remain with two weekly practices.
After a few weeks of practices, the boys are placed on City League teams.
Games will be held on Fridays (late afternoons/early evenings) starting in early to mid-March. There are no games during Spring Break (EUSD schools). The season will end before Memorial Day Weekend in May. All games will be played locally, either in Granite Bay or El Dorado Hills.
This program is compatible with other spring sports, such as baseball. Many players are able to participate in both sports during the spring.
Registration typically opens in early October.
